INTER 104 - Course Four: Mechanisms of Disease and Host Defenses 1.00 credit hour
Course 4 is designed to present basic concepts of normal tissue morphology, mechanisms of cellular damage, and tissue responses to injury, focusing on neoplastic transformation, oncogenesis, and treatment of cancer as a model of the disease process. Course 4 will also give a basic background to acquired and innate immune responses, and the interaction between these two elements. The course consists of a series of lectures, small group case discussions, clinical corrections, four history laboratories, and other assigned exercises.
