ELECT EOBME - Milestone 1 Elective

Goals:

1.         Completion of Milestone 1 prior to beginning residency.

2.        Familiarize students with various aspects of systems based practice in preparation for day one of internship.

 Objectives:

1.         Students will complete and pass the didactic portion of Milestone 1 online through self study and completion of reading assignments.

2.        Students will complete and pass all clinical skills and standardized patient scenarios (OSCEs) as outlined by Milestone 1.

3.        Students will complete a checklist of various systems based practice tasks such as order entry, H&P completion, preop evaluation, etc

Evaluation:

Evaluation is based on national criteria for this Milestone for objectives 1 and 2 and will be pass/fail.  Objective 3 will be a series of checklist that must be completed prior to the end of the rotation and is pass/fail.

Upon completion of the above curriculum, students will be certified as completing Milestone 1 and may begin immediately on Milestone 2 upon matriculation into internship.
