NEURO 300 - Neurology Robert Schwendimann, M.D., Acting Head of the Department and Clerkship Director

This is a course in clinical neurology that is required for all third year medical students. Students will be assigned to both the neurology in-patient and outpatient services. They will participate in day-to-day activities within the neurology department, including morning reports, grand rounds and other didactic sessions in the department. Faculty and resident physicians will closely supervise students. Students will be given opportunity to improve the skills necessary to evaluate patients with common neurological symptoms and complaints. Emphasis will be placed on history taking and performing a competent examination that will enable the student to localize pathology within the nervous system. Didactic sessions will be interactive and problem or case-based.
